Remarks: The RML 12.5-inch guns Mk I – Mk II were large rifled muzzle-loading guns designed for British battleships and monitors in the 1860’s to 1880’s. They were also used for fixed coastal defences around the United Kingdom and around the British Empire until the early years of the 20th Century.

Original RML 12.5 inch barrel is lying on the seabed just off the cliff at Europa Point. In 2013, another barrel lying at the side of the Dockyard South Gate was transported to Harding’s Battery and mounted on a replica carriage.
