Remarks: The Ordnance Quick-Firing 6-pounder 7 cwt was a British 57 mm gun, serving during the Second World War as a primary anti-tank gun of both the British and United States Army.

Nine of these types of ordnance arrived in Gibraltar in July 1942 to replace the older 6 pounders and 75mm guns. According to Rollo these were allocated as follows:

17^th August 6 pounder 7 cwt replaced the 6 pounder 6 cwt at Pidsley’s

9^th September 6 pounder 7 cwt replaced the 2 pounder Pom Pom at Lows

5^th September 6 pounder 7 cwt replaced the old 6 pounder at Crutchett’s

5th September 6 pounder 7 cwt replaced the 75 mm at Lower Bombproof

21^st September 6 pounder 7 cwt replaced the 6 pounder 6 cwt at Howitt’s Post

3^rd October 6 pounder 7 cwt replaced the 2 pounder Pom Pom at Cormorant

3^rd October 6 pounder 7 cwt replaced the 6 pounder 6 cwt at Waterport North

By December, another four 6 pounder 7 cwt guns arrived and issued to 974 Defence Battery to replace their eight 2 pounder anti-tank guns.

By 1943, 29 guns were sited as static anti-tank guns at various sites in Gibraltar. These were:
